Walz orders flags at half-staff Saturday, Sunday

ST. PAUL — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has ordered flags be flown at half-staff Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5.

In a Saturday morning proclamation, Walz named the weekend Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

“Each and every day firefighters demonstrate a noble courage, sacrificing their lives to keep our families and communities safe,” Walz said in a statement. “This weekend we honor the fallen firefighters who courageously protected our families and neighbors at the expense of their own lives.
