SIOUX FALLS – The effort to restore the tenets of Roe v. Wade in South Dakota entered a new phase on Wednesday.

Backers of a constitutional amendment to permanently enshrine abortion rights announced during an event in Sioux Falls that they are submitting more than 55,000 petition signatures to put the question on the ballot in November.
