71 Sears stores to close permanently nationwide

A once-expansive retailer is preparing to close dozens of its locations.

At least 71 Sears Hometown stores will be shutting their doors for good in the coming weeks, according to a report from Axios. A list of closing locations was posted on a message board, TheLayoff.com, and many stores have taken to Facebook to inform customers of their impending closure.

Six Kansas and Missouri locations are closing: Farmington, Washington and Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and Newton, Colby and Winfield, Kansas.

Washington Water Files Suit Over Highway 170 Project

FAYETTEVILLE -- Washington Water Authority has sued the Arkansas Department of Transportation and city of Farmington asking a judge to stop work on the widening of Arkansas 170 until an agreement is reached to move the authority's water lines.

Washington Water claims it will cost more than $1.5 million to move water lines along the road, and it will lose easements. Farmington and the Transportation Department have refused to pay for the work, according to the lawsuit.
