Fake-bearded bank robbery suspect charged with 9 counts

LAFAYETTE — Joseph W. Kruger spent the bulk of his adult life in a federal prison for bank robbery, and if Tippecanoe County prosecutors prove their case, he'll likely spend decades more in an Indiana prison.

On Tuesday, prosecutors charged Kruger, the suspected fake-bearded bank robber, with four counts of theft and four counts of armed robbery.

Prosecutors accused Kruger of being the robber who frequently wore cheesy disguises such as fake beards and cheap-looking wigs.
