Commercial glass recycling program from GPI and GlassKing growing in Chicago

Dive Brief:

A program to collect glass bottles from commercial locations is eyeing further expansion in the Chicagoland area. Don’t Trash Glass, supported by the Glass Packaging Institute, is currently equipped to service 120 accounts but plans an expansion to possibly service up to 300 accounts in 2023.

Legionella bacteria have been found in the water at 12 Illinois prisons since testing began in February, according to lab reports obtained by The Appeal.
