Analysis: Big U.S., Brazil Harvests, Slow China Demand, Ease Crop Shortage Fears

CHICAGO/NEW YORK, Nov 8 (Reuters) – Big U.S. harvests, near-perfect weather for planting in Brazil and signs of slowing purchases by top buyer China are bolstering supplies of two of the top globally traded commodities: soy and corn.

The rising stocks indicate that prices for those key crops, as well as for other staples such as sugar and coffee, may have peaked after the surge sparked by the onset of the pandemic, farmers, brokers and analysts said.

Henry County to raise rates at Hillcrest Home

CAMBRIDGE, Ill. — Henry County Board members learned the health and social services committee is raising room rates at Hillcrest Home by $50 per day as of Feb. 1, 2023.

Semi-private rooms will rise from $150 per day to $200 a day while private rooms will go from $200 a day to $250.

Committee chairman Jan May said Hillcrest would still be under the government, the Veterans Administration, Medicare and other area homes within a 100-mile radius.
