ICE called after stabbing in Union City

UNION CITY — In the afternoon of Dec. 3, 2022, officers of the Union City, Ohio and Union City Indiana Police Departments responded to the 100 block of E. Main Street in reference to a female that had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers learned a female had been stabbed in the arm by her neighbor.

Ater and Spencer resolve defamation lawsuit

DARKE COUNTY — A defamation lawsuit filed by Union City, Ohio Police Chief Mark Ater against former Darke County Sheriff Toby Spencer has been resolved.

In a statement sent to the Daily Advocate, Chief Ater said, “The lawsuit has been resolved by mutual agreement and to the mutual satisfaction of the parties and I may make no further comment.”
