Trial Date Set: Omaha Doctor Accused of Killing Sioux Falls Woman

A Nebraska surgeon, accused of killing a Sioux Falls woman in a 2023 Omaha car accident, will stand trial in August.

The head-on collision took place on September 1, 2023 on Dodge Street in Omaha near the 62nd Street intersection.

According to police reports, 61-year-old Dr. Mark Carlson's Mercedes Benz was traveling as fast as 106 miles per hour just seconds before it struck a light pole and then a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Anna Bosma.

She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Sioux Falls Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Fentanyl Overdose Case

Jason Winckler, 44, was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised released. He was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
