A foundation of Payne community, The Rock celebrates 25 years

A joyous celebration is in order for Payne’s Christ Community youth center, known as The Rock, after overcoming much adversity in its history. This December, the youth center is celebrating 25 years of serving the youth and community of Payne.

The youth center was started 25 years years ago when Pastor Mike Smith, Dr. Don Snyder, Jim Sponseller, and Tom Litzenberg purchased Payne’s old pool hall and began to remodel the building.
