Local Leaders Vote To Keep Dixie Center Name, For Now, After Receiving Backlash

Washington County leaders decided Monday to hold off on renaming the Dixie Convention Center after voting last week to change its name to Greater Zion.

County and city leaders unanimously voted to keep the name as Dixie for the next six months, as convention staff look into ways of incorporating the region’s nickname and its history. That’s if the board ultimately decides to change the name in the future.
