Pedestrian dies in late night Ocean City crash

The Ocean City Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred overnight Friday, Aug. 26, at about 11:56 p.m. in the area of 59th Street and Coastal Highway.

The pedestrian, Sophia Battisti, 21, of Reinholds, Pennsylvania, was crossing Coastal Highway from the east against the pedestrian signal, according to police. Police: Lancaster County Couple Falsely Reported Animals Missing That They Abandoned

A couple has been charged with willfully abandoning dogs in East Petersburg, according to local police.

Oscar David Ortolaza, 30, and Samantha Johnna Coppe, 28, both of the 6400 block of Hollow Drive were charged on Monday based on findings of an investigation starting in June.
