Steelton Man Charged With Attempting To Kill A Federal Witness

HARRISBURG - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Melvin R. Thomas, age 43, of Steelton, Pennsylvania, was indicted by a federal grand jury on intimidation of a witness and firearms charges.

According to United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam, the indictment alleges that on August 24, 2022, in Dauphin County, Thomas retaliated against a federal witness who testified in a federal proceeding. FBI offers reward for capture, conviction of Harrisburg-area bank robber: See video, photos

The FBI is seeking to capture an "armed and dangerous" man who robbed four Harrisburg-area banks in three months in 2016 and 2017, according to a news release.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for the man's arrest and conviction.
