Loggers discover cubs; PGC able to place bears with new mothers

Three young cubs have been adopted by other black bears after loggers found them on their own in northern Venango County.

Jason Amory, information and education supervisor for the Pennsylvania Game Commission, said Wednesday morning that a logging company was working in a wooded area and discovered the cubs in a large brush pile. Their den was unintentionally disturbed by the logging work, and it’s believed the mother fled the area.
