SIOUX FALLS — An anti-abortion group trying to thwart efforts to amend the state constitution to restore the rights provided under Roe v. Wade didn't break any laws by calling petition signers in an attempt to change their minds.

Attorney General Marty Jackley said Tuesday that the Department of Criminal Investigation found no evidence of "criminal wrongdoing" when volunteers for the South Dakota Petition Integrity Committee contacted citizens who had signed the petition to put the abortion question on the November ballot.
