Five Northeast Texas teams square off in area round games

Five teams from Northeast Texas remain playing in the UIL stats football playoffs after the opening round.

In Class 3A, Division II area games, Hooks plays Harmony for the second time this season, DeKalb and Daingerfield meet in a well-matched game, and New Boston faces a tough task with Newton. In Class 2A, Division II area-round games, James Bowie squares off against Deweyville, and Maud tackles unbeaten Lovelady.
