Rarely in high school football do you see teams have the same players, the same lineup from season to season. Players come and players go. Seniors get first dibs, mostly, and the freshmen wait their turn.

Lockney’s done things differently, mostly out of necessity. The Longhorns have shuffled between the six-man and 11-man ranks on the gridiron, not really knowing which style of play they’d be using from one season to another. After three stints as the Head Football Coach in Silverton, Clyde Parham, who’s already in the Six-Man Coaches Association Hall of Fame, announced his retirement this summer.
