Hurricane Valley Fire District proposes ‘significant’ property tax increase

ST. GEORGE — For the second time in recent years, Washington County residents living within the boundaries of the Hurricane Valley Fire District are facing a hefty tax increase.

Outlining budgetary stressors such as a rapidly growing population and tourism, increasing call volumes, inflation and other factors, the Hurricane Valley Fire District is proposing a nearly 90% property tax increase.
