Latter-day Saint missionaries reseed Hill Cumorah forest

Here’s a did-you-know fact: Nearly 100 years ago, missionaries planted 70,000 tree saplings on the Hill Cumorah.

All that work was done under the direction of my great-grandfather’s brother, Willard Bean, the Fighting Preacher, who helped the church acquire the Hill Cumorah site. He and his wife Rebecca served as missionaries in Palmyra and Manchester for 24 years.

No injuries reported in structure fire in Pleasant View

PLEASANT VIEW, Utah — Weber County fire officials responded to a structure fire Friday in Pleasant View.

In a posting on Facebook, the North View Fire District says the incident occurred in the area of 4200 N. 250 West.

When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they discovered heavy smoke coming from a basement window. They also noticed smoke coming from the vents in the attic.
