In the 1800s, Crewe grew up around a railway junction, rail yard and locomotive works. Not just our Crewe though. Crewe, Virginia, is a railway town named after its English counterpart, founded in 1888, around 50 years after the Grand Junction Railway arrived in Crewe, Cheshire.
