Runners set personal records in Rock Springs

The Boys Cross County team takes off running Friday during the Rock Springs Invite at the White Mountain Golf Course.

This past week the Green River High School Girls and Boys Cross Country teams competed at the Rock Springs Invitational with teams from Rock Springs, Mountain View, Lyman and Manila, Utah. The girls team took first place for the third time this season while the boys took forth.

Wolverine captured in Utah and released back into wild

RANDOLPH, Utah — A wolverine spotted in Randolph, Utah was captured by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources last week. The DWR placed a GPS collar on it for tracking purposes, and released it in the Uinta Mountains.

Utah Captures and Collars First Wolverine in State History

Utah state officials have captured a live wolverine and fitted it with a GPS collar for the first time ever in the state. These rare animals have only had eight confirmed sightings in Utah since 1979, according to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR).

"It's amazing to get a chance to see a wolverine in the wild, let alone catch one," DWR Northern Region Wildlife Manager Jim Christensen says in a statement. "This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience."
