The Hampton University women’s track and field team won the HBCU Showcase last weekend at the Armory Track in New York.

The Pirates were led by thrower Abria Smith and distance runner Jordan Mozie. Smith won the shot put with a school-record 49 feet, 10 1/4 inches. She was named the Most Outstanding Female Athlete of the Meet. Mozie ran 5:02.23 to set a meet record in the 1,600 meters.
